Black people are often expected to be endlessly available, resilient, and accommodating.


Rest systems fail faster in environments where:


  • saying no is punished

  • overextension is praised

  • sacrifice is normalized

  • care is not reciprocated


Without intentional protection, rest becomes a temporary privilege instead of a permanent structure.


Longevity requires defense.
